A The Explorer 2011. májusi tanulmányútja több mint 1500 kilométer hosszú úton járta végig ezt az írott idők hajnala óta létező, s most a szemünk láttára újjászülető mesés keleti utat. A Szovjetunió széthullásakor a selyemút ősi nyugat-turkesztáni kulturális központjait Üzbegisztán "örökölte".
Nem szükséges bejárni a nagyvilágot ahhoz, hogy csodákra akadjunk. Kis hazánk valódi kincsesdoboza a természeti és kulturális értékeknek. A The Explorer 2011 januárjában Somogyfajszon, a Somogyi Természetvédelmi Szervezet jóvoltából megmentett varázslatos élőhelyek és pásztorkultúra nyomába eredt.
